Circle Geometry – Complete Unit of Work

In this unit, students will learn about coordinate geometry in the context of circles. They will start by finding the equation of tangents to the circle at a point by first finding the gradient of the radius and using the fact that the radius and tangent are perpendicular so their gradients multiply together to -1. After this, they will look at the equations of the circles themselves, being able to plot and recognise graphs of circle with their centre at the origin.
